The purpose of diameter calculations

The purpose of diameter calculations

Hydraulic calculations are used to determine pipeline diameters of gravity drainage systems. It is possible to perform calculations and analysis for combined, sanity and stormwater sewer systems.

The program allows users to design elevation diagrams of wastewater disposal systems, determine initial pipeline depths, slopes and marks in pipe connection points in wastewater shafts and chambers.

These calculations are used for

  • designing wastewater disposal systems
  • reconstructing wastewater disposal systems

Calculation features

Diameter calculations are performed in accordance with SP 32.13330.2018 «Sewerage. Pipelines and wastewater treatment plants». Pipeline diameters are calculated according to a pipe schedule indicated by the user and specified in the pipeline reference guide. It is possible to plan pipeline joints of different diameters in wells based on pipe crowns or a design water level.

Calculations and analysis of a combined and sanitary sewer system are performed for average and maximum flow rate, taking into account the variation factors of wastewater inflow.

Calculations and analysis of a stormwater system are performed for flow rates determined by a method of maximum intensities. Drainage basins are displayed on a map as area objects; the area of drainage basins is automatically derived from the map or set manually by the user. The connection between stormwater inlets and drainage basins is demonstrated in a diagram.

In order to take into account the design particularities of wastewater disposal systems, the module allows users to perform calculations with partially fixed parameters. It is possible to complete the tasks based on:

  • fixed or partially fixed pipe slopes
  • fixed or partially fixed pipe diameters
  • custom pipe drop at the end of the pipe
